🌸 Wash Care Guidelines – Dor Closets
Each Dor Closets outfit is thoughtfully designed—whether it’s hand-dyed, block printed, embroidered, or crafted from breathable fabrics. To keep your pieces looking beautiful over time, here’s how to care for them with love:
1. Hand Wash is Best
Always prefer hand washing in cold water using a mild, natural detergent. This gentle method helps preserve colors, textures, and hand-crafted details.
2. Wash Separately
Especially for the first few washes, keep the garment separate. Hand-dyed and printed fabrics may release some color initially—this is completely natural and will settle over time.
3. No Soaking or Scrubbing
Avoid soaking clothes for long or scrubbing stains harshly. This can cause fading, color bleeding, or damage to delicate prints and fabrics.
4. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
No bleach, no strong detergents, and no fabric softeners. These break down natural dyes and weaken fabric over time.
5. Air Dry in Shade
Always dry your garments inside-out, in shade. Direct sunlight can cause fading. Gently squeeze out excess water—never wring or twist.
6. Skip the Dryer
Do not tumble dry. Let your clothes air dry naturally to maintain their shape and softness.
7. No Dry Cleaning Needed
Our fabrics are best kept chemical-free. Avoid dry cleaning, as the harsh solvents can strip away natural dyes and damage hand-crafted details.
8. Iron with Care
Iron on the reverse side using low to medium heat. For embroidered or delicate pieces, place a thin cloth between the fabric and iron, or opt for steaming.
9. Store Mindfully
Fold your outfits neatly and store them in a cool, dry place. For special pieces, wrap them in soft muslin to prevent snagging or color transfer.
